On The Road Again

My Dad use to have a favorite expression that he used quite often, a lot of times when he would greet you he would say, how sweet it is. How true in life when things are going your way you can say how sweet it is.

This past Thursday as Marianne and I were traveling around the hills of West
Virginia headed to Little Birch Baptist Church I found myself saying, how sweet it is. Yes the thought of knowing that we were delivering more goods to the people of West Virginia brings joy to my heart. And of course that could not have been possible without many of you which I again say thank you.

It was a special privilege to meet more of God's servants whose goal is to help those in need. BeBe and Jane Marshall operate the mission work in little Birch through the Little Birch Baptist Church which brother BeBe pastors. They shared with us how God has His hand upon the ministry there and how many things are happening.

We toured the facilities where the food and clothing is distributed and the storage and sorting area. They open once a month on the third Saturday and they have over one thousand people on the list to receive food . Naturally not all come every time but they try to give them enough to last a month.

The food is prepared in advance and when the folks come through the line they
are given the bags of food. Then they have an opportunity to go to the clothes closet. The folks are only allowed in two at the time which keeps it very orderly.

Brother BeBe is in hopes of building a new church one day and use the old one for the food and clothing ministry. The mission has to purchase a great deal of the food at sixteen cents a pound and those who receive the food aren't able to contribute.

It was a joy to see the dedication of BeBe and Jane and their love for the people there. Please pray for them and the ministry in Little Birch.

Yes, how sweet it.
